Student Diaries

All students are issued with a homework diary at the beginning of each academic year. This encourages them to organise their study time and meet deadlines by methodically recording homework requirements.

Examples of homework tasks that you may see written in the diary are: assignments, brainstorming, coursework, designing, drawing, essay writing, planning, projects, report writing, research, reading, specified revision and simple experiments.

The diaries are signed by tutors each week so that the tutor can monitor the homework that is being set. Parents are also requested to check/sign the diaries and work with the school to make sure homework is completed.

The diaries are also a means of communication between home and school. Space is provided on every week page in the diary for parents to write notes to teachers and vice versa.
