How parents/carers can support their child:

Students are expected to weigh all their ingredients at home, prior to practical lessons.  In year 7 we ask that they are supervised.

All food created and cooked in practical lessons will need to be transported in a sealed, secured plastic container.  The student’s name should clearly be displayed on the container.

Encourage the use of a dictionary and thesaurus to support literacy and extend vocabulary

Encourage your child to cook regularly at home

Remind your child of the importance of proofreading their work prior to submission to enable them to spot mistakes and errors

Encourage your child to use BBC Bitesize to support their understanding of their learning and help them with the completion of homework – especially in year 9

We encourage the use of online resources to enhance subject knowledge. Please remind your child that work submitted should always be their own.
