Autumn Term (term 1 and 2) Y9

Students will study three modules consisting of Photography, News and Journalism and Magazines.

Spring Term (term 3 and 4) Y9

Students will focus on the persuasive techniques used in both Print and Television Advertising, analysing and creating an Advertising Campaign of their own choice.

Summer Term (term 5 and 6) Y9

Students will study the Narrative techniques used in Comics and the symbolic importance of Superheroes. Students will also study animation and create their own animated short film.
Autumn Term (term 1 and 2)  Y10

Students in year 10 will study Film posters and Film trailers and Film marketing techniques.

Genre coursework essay (10% GCSE).

Music Industry and Music Videos – analysing and creating music video’s.

Spring Term (term 3 and 4)  Y10

Television and Narrative, focusing on crime drama and romantic comedies. Analysing Narrative in

Television Drama and creating a short trailer for a television programme.

Narrative coursework essay (10% GCSE).

Summer Term  (term 5 and 6) Y10

Students will begin coursework research into Horror Films.  
Autumn Term (term 1 and 2)  Y11

Horror Films (Coursework) – Planning for a short horror film & Production a short horror film (40% GCSE)

Spring Term (term 3 and 4)  Y11

Exam preparation – Section A

Summer Term  (term 5 and 6) Y11
