How we assess students:

25% of the qualification content is externally assessed  Assessment requirements: – internally assessed and externally moderated portfolio of evidence – externally set and marked assignment

How homework is set: relevant homework is set directly linked to the topic. Students are given an assessment overview sheet for each topic and the grades available. To access the higher grades independent research and investigation is required.
How parents/carers can support their child: Ensure they have  a range of materials available at home to assist them in completing some work started in class. Be open to visiting galleries and exhibitions to support their working knowledge. Encourage them to use photographs to support some of the assignments (this will be detailed in the course topic)
