Teachers from EPCS share findings of their action research

After school today, newly qualified teachers from our school presented the findings of research projects they had been undertaking into particular aspects of their pedagogy. The studies were wide ranging, considering topics including taking the fear out of writing for students, approaches to maximising student engagement in Design Technology, and promoting a culture of independence in the Maths classroom. The recommendations that the teachers reached were a result of making a controlled change to an aspect of their practice, and evaluating its impact over an agreed time period. The presentations were all carefully considered, grounded in academic reading, and led to some thoughtful and lively discussion with audience members! A big well done to those teachers who presented their research.
